You're Fired. Don't Fire.

A proposed law in Florida would allow employees to bring guns to work in their cars.

Now while there is plenty of controversy over what the government may demand of gun owners, I don't think the rules should be as tricky in the private world. We've passed so many civil rights laws telling employers what they can and can't do, we've lost sight that this relationship is essentially a matter of contract. A hires B and either party can insist on what she wants or walk away. If A doesn't want B to bring a gun to work (especially if we're talking about private property), even if the reason seem foolish, I don't think the state should get in the way.
