Corrections Department

Walked past an Old Navy yesterday and they were advertising "Burmuda Shorts." Get on the ball, guys. (Probably too late to do anything about it.)

Also, I've finally gotten around to reading Ian MacDonald's song-by-song take on The Beatles, Revolution In The Head. It was originally published in 1994, and MacDonald died in 2003 after completing the second revision. Nevertheless, one mistake has made it through unscathed. If there's ever another edition, maybe they can fix it.

In discussing one of my favorite songs, "There's A Place," MacDonald claims the lyric was inspired by Leonard Bernstein's "There's A Place For Us." Except Bernstein never wrote such a song. He did write a song for West Side Story that starts "There's a place for us" (words mostly from Stephen Sondheim), but its name is "Somewhere."
