I've Got A Bad Feeling About This

It seemed like decades. The Tigers were a rotten team. Finally, in the past few years, they turned into a contender (who run out of steam around the end).

So I looked forward to this season. And what happened? Seven losses in a row. Deja vu.

They finally won one, but they need to turn around soon or it'll be over before it begins.

The Tigers are talented & will pull out of their swoon but it is hard to come back from being 7 games under .500 (1-8) so early in the season.

Meanwhile I've officially given up on the Pirates on April 10. Last year (a forgettable 68 win season) they didn't permanently descend below .500 until Game 23. This year it looks like they began their descent in game 7 and are now 3-6 after having been swept by a very bad Cubs team. (Last year when the Pirates got swept by the horrendous KC Royals, the memorable headline read "Bucs avoid being swept by the worst team in baseball by becoming the worst team in baseball")

We are struggling. Many problems, but I think the biggest is the lack of defense at SS, 3B, and 1B. I think that we need to get Inge back at third and Cabrera into left field. When Granderson returns from injury, then this will hopefully be the course.

-- we were no-hit for seven and two thirds today before our one nothing deficit ballooned to 7-0 in the bottom of the eighth.

Bad defense at 3B, SS and 1B? Great, as long as they hit it up the center we're fine.

The Tigers have been outscored by a 2 to 1 ratio this season, so I think a little more offense may be in order.

Offense will come and go -- pitching and defense must be consistent and solid.
