I See Too Many Dead People

Ghost Town opens tomorrow. It appears to be a comic version of The Sixth Sense. Ricky Gervais "dies" for seven minutes in a hospital. Afterwards he can see dead people, and they all need his help, which is quite a nuisance.

This reminds me of the problem I had with The Sixth Sense in the first place. Haley Joel Osment sees dead people. Bruce Willis helps solve Osment's problem by having him work with the dead people, not be frightened of them or resist them.

Now if this were real life and Osment is imagining he's seeing dead people, this might be good therapy. Perhaps he could resolve his issues and obsessions and be able to move forward. But if he really is seeing dead people, then helping them will only encourage countless more to come visit. He won't have a free moment for the rest of his life.
