Directed Verdict

Senator Patrick Leahy wants to set up a "truth commission" to look into the activities of the Bush Administration. As he puts it:

"Rather than vengeance, we need a fair-minded pursuit of what actually happened. And we do that to make sure it never happens again."

Since he's sure something went wrong, he apparently already knows the truth, so why bother to investigate?
