Whatever Carrey Wants
Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal to do Damn Yankees, with a script by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel? I did this musical in high shool, and it's a fun show, but I'm just wondering if this sort of thing will play in general today, even if they update all the references to the Washington Senators.

I think they would have to rewrite to show that the Devil already had many of the players and owners under contract
It'd be hard to update it, since with how players are paid today, it's easy to believe they've sold their souls.
I can see Gyllenhaal (as well as a dozen others) in the Tab Hunter role as the ballplayer but Jim Carrey taking over from Ray Walston? Nope. A better choice would be Ray Wise.
And who would they bring in to play Lola - Anne Hathaway?
All this does is make me want to re-watch the original.
