A Bit Different
"Better Call Saul" wasn't off-series for Breaking Bad, but it was a bit different. The show has had humor before, but introducing Bob Odenkirk as a sleazy criminal lawyer sent them to the edge of cartoonish (though he didn't go quite as far as Stevie Grant). Still, plotwise, it made sense. They've been through all sorts of problems being drug dealers entails, it was only a matter of time before they needed a mouthpiece.
The question is where do they go from here. Will Saul (now that he knows the score) try to help them (while helping himself) or is he just another loose end that will have to be dealth with?
Also, Hank sure doesn't seem convinced that everything's on the up and up. Does he already suspect Walt, who just happened to drive by when the deal was going down, or is he going to start digging deeper?
Then there's Walt's wife, who's got her own little plot. Originally, Walt was doing all this for his family, but does he even care any more?
Next week looks to be about some trouble with cooking--the one thing Walt truly understands. Like the title says, nothing ever works out for the best on Breaking Bad.
