I Guess Return Of The Jedi Is Out Of The Question
Here's sort of an interesting poll on sf films, though it does seem to be one of those dumbed-down kinds where it's multiple choice rather than open.
Here's what I don't get. How can A New Hope beat Empire Strikes Back for best sci-fi movie of all time while Empire manages to win best Star Wars film?

Star Wars (refuse to use the ridiculous "New Hope" title) works well as a standalone movie. Empire Strikes Back really doesn't- its clearly just an episode.
However, if you are going to view all of the Stars Wars movies (or all of the original trilogy) Empire Strikes Back is the superior episode.
Not saying I agree (I think the first is always the best) but the position can be logically consistent.
