Jacksonian Democracy

Looked like there could be a vote in the House on a resolution honoring Michael Jackson. Nancy Pelosi wisely shut it down. The last thing she needs is a debate on the floor over the merits of the King Of Pop.

The question is do we need any of these resolutions. I guess they're nice for the people being honored, and unlike most legislation, they don't cost much, but is this really a job for the federal government?

Was the introduction of the resolution a GOP plot. On a similar thread, I saw an email alert about the evils of Bruno and its effect on children that could have been written by Sacha Baron Cohen.
