Ladder To Jacob

Rewatching Lost season 5 I'm struck by the headlong pace. I've noted in the past that nothing can match the magic of the first season, but can anything match the plotting of season 5?

As great as the earlier seasons were, there was some meandering. It was inevitable. Now that the show knows where it's going it can hardly wait to get there. And with only 17 hours to tell season 5's story, each episode is full of action, and has twists as well.

True, there's less character development, but that's because the characters are already there--it's time to show us what they can do. I only hope the show keeps it up in season 6.
