Better Off Ted
Speaking of the Massachusetts special election, the Boston Globe poll shows Coakley up by 17, while Public Policy Polling shows Brown ahead by 1. Hmm.
The truth is probably somewhere in between, but if I had to believe one it would be the Globe. This is Ted Kennedy's seat, after all. Even in 1994, when Democrats were losing everywhere, he got 58 percent of the vote.

For those who care about MA politics:
Brown had temporary blip because
- Coakley had adopted a "sit on your hands" strategy while Brown ran some ads and attacked (vaguely on healthcare)
-Brown, an attractive square-jawed first Gulf War veteran hid his party affiliation- his ads never mention "Republican" and it was hard to find his party affiliation on his website. He ran ads comparing himself to JFK and named FDR as his favorite 20th century president in a debate.
-Coakley is the AG and former high profile DA and has been messy in some child abuse - she came down hard on day care operators in the 90s (Fells Acres- the East Coast version of the McMartin case) who many feel have been railroaded and was seemingly easy on a police officer, related to high-up police union official, who was ultimately found guilty of raping a 2 year old with a curling iron (The issue was he was free on personal recognizance for 2+ years prior to the trial) and these stories received "recap" press in the last two weeks.
Also Kennedy beat Mitt Romney in 94 largely after profiles showing how Bain Capital slashed payrolls after it took over companies (This was well before the "fight for every job" Mitt of the 2008 Michigan primary). Mitt did go on to be MA governor and achieved the result of making the small state republican party into a very small state republican party .
Bain Capital is the best reason to vote for Romney.
