Beatlemania Vs. The Four Seasons

Jersey Boys is a major hit. I've heard nothing but good things about the show, but I've avoided it since I generally don't like jukebox musicals. I like shows that have songs written specifically for the story, not compiled from previous sources.

I recently found out the Original Cast Recording of Jersey Boys has gone platinum. While I can't say it's a surprise, there's still something wrong about it. It's like the buying the cast album of Beatlemania. I'm sure they're a fine cover band, but the real thing is still available. At the very least, I hope the people who bought Jersey Boys already own all the Four Seasons' originals.
