Ernie
The Detroit I grew up in was a four-team town--the Tigers, the Lions, the Pistons and the Red Wings. That meant we had eight announcers, TV and radio for both. But there was only one Ernie Harwell. Whether or not you were a Tiger fan, he had to be the most beloved in Detroit. I didn't know anyone who didn't like him.

Heading to Comerica tonight for the tribute, taking a hanky. Jose Feliciano will be there, I guess it was Ernie who booked him in '68 and almost lost his job over it. They've been close since.
