Dean Martin was born June 7, 1917. He did everything in show biz, though he's best known as a singer. His style owed a lot to Crosby, but if anything he was more relaxed. And a little more ethnic.

He had the coolness of someone who didn't give a damn. Maybe he actually did, but no one ever got to know him well enough to find out.

He was a superstar twice, first with Jerry Lewis, then on his own. Of course, it was hard to be taken seriously as a singer with Jerry interrupting him all the time.



He got so used to it, when he was on his own, he started interrupting himself.
