Just saw this street poster based on the famous photo of Che Guevara. Except it's got Obama's face. And at the bottom is written "Peace?".
I have no idea what to make of this. Is it praise or criticism? And if it's the latter, is the criticism coming from the right or left. I don't even know if the poster's widespread or if this is a one-off.

Maybe its as meaningful as the original Che Guevara. I'm sure there were a few hardcore types who bought into the "new socialist man" stuff but most I'm guessing thought- here's a cool stylish romantic revolutionary whose face on my chest will piss off authority.
The link took me to the standard Che poster and some Spanish text. I wonder if the site had been hacked when you saw it.
Anyway, a subtle political statement is too subtle if people honestly trying to figure out the meaning can't. It can still be art, which is allowed to have multiple meaning to the point of having no meaning.
The link was to the original Che photo--I could find no link to the Obama/Che juxtaposition.
This is a street poster. While sometimes they're not trying to say anything in particular, usually they're put up to make a statement.
