Korean Connection
I never watched the original Hawaii Five-0. It seemed like just another cop show with a lusher setting.
Actually, the new version debuting on the 20th doesn't excite me too much either. Still, I've got to give a shot to any show that features Jin from Lost and Boomer from Battlestar Galactica.
Of course, this probably means I'll be disappointed. You can like certain actors, but in the end it's the show that matters.

The trailer with funny repartee between the stars- "hey I can't question the suspects if you keep killing them" does not bode well (actually writing it now makes it look funny- trust me it wasn't)
The original 5-0 ("and Lee Fong as Chin Ho"), apart from the killer theme song was a SOBIG- Watching a double dose from 1230-230 Am on Sunday night is one of my fondest college memories. Jimmy Johnson and TJ Hooker both owe key parts of their personas to Jack Lord's McGarrett. My particular favorite is one about about some murderous hippies (the "Peoples Attack Group") going around the islands randomly offing good clean hardworking Americans on vacation. One of McGarrett's flunky academics opined that it was probably compensation for sexual impotency.
Let it rest in Peace

Poor Jin, still stuck on the island.
Daniel Dae Kim played a great range of emotion on Lost (unlike, say, Claire or Shannon). Will he get such an opportunity on a cop show?
I first saw him as the telepath in the unimpressive Babylon 5 spinoff Crusade, and then as one of the lawyers in the evil law firm Wolfram & Hart in Angel.
