Happy birthday, John.
He'd have been seventy. And it's been almost thirty years (!) since Howard Cosell made the stunning announcement of his death on Monday Night Football. But (and this is a horrible thought) even if he'd died in 1970, he'd live on forever as one of the greatest songwriters and rockers who ever lived.

I like Howard Cosell's interview with Lennon from a 1974 game (you can find if you click the link). Great fun but Howard's neon piss yellow blazer would have looked better on John
