Here's a cool website, HowManyOfMe.com. That pretty much explains it. Just type in your name and find out how many in the U.S. are called the same.
Turns out there are 1558 people with the first name "La" and 32,262 people with the surname "Guy." But there's only one LA Guy.

Julia Sweeney's "It's Pat" character was of indeterminate sex. So I checked the name and now know that Pat has a 64.52% chance of being a woman.
