Joe Jackson burst out of the New Wave in the late 70s with a sound that rock and roll was meant to be. He branched out, but I still love his early stuff. Happy birthday, Joe. (Is it just me, or does he look like Ralph Malph?)

He's The Man.
But did the predicted sale of porkpie hats ever really occur? You see them here and there among the precious young stylistas but never more generally (well maybe in europe among the Obama analysts)
Never reminded me of Ralph Malph. Thanks Joe for introducing me to several musical styles.
Recall playing JJ's "Big World" endlessly when it came out in 1986....whole heartedly recommended it to a friend, who responded by commenting on the over all negative tone of the lyrics and message. For some reason, this observation escaped me at the time...
JJ could be pretty caustic, but that's how we liked it.
