It's Gore Vidal's birthday. One of our top novelists, he has gotten nutty lately. But no matter what else he says or does, he was part of one of the most entertaining exchanges ever caught on television.

Well WFB is pretty nutty too
Not anymore.
When asked how he felt about Buckley's death, Vidal replied "I thought hell is bound to be a livelier place, as he joins forever those whom he served in life, applauding their prejudices and fanning their hatred."
Charming guy.
