Brotherly Love
George Clooney has optioned David Bianculli's book on the Smothers Brothers. Their fight with CBS might make be a good story (though didn't Clooney sort of already cover this sort of thing with Good Night, And Good Luck?), but I don't think it can work as a movie.
Movies about famous comedians, even if they focus on their private lives, are hard to pull off. The Smothers Brothers, still alive and performing, have a unique style. I'm guessing no actors will be able to get the same effect. If the movie shows them doing their routines, it won't feel the same, and if it doesn't, it'll feel like something is missing. In any case, we'll constantly be reminded that this is a movie.
Hey, maybe Clooney can hire the Brothers Brothers.

Just curious, what did you make of Robert Downey Jr.'s film about Charlie Chaplin. I remember enjoying it, but it has been a long time since I saw it.
P.S. Thanks.
I didn't like the film for several reasons, but the central one was no one could duplicate the genius of Chaplin.
