The year is over and we can compare how much money various films made.. These numbers are domestic, and a few titles (like the latest Mission: Impossible) have a fair amount more to come, but the list gives a pretty good idea of what sells.  Here are the top ten:

3.  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
4.  The Hangover: Part II
5.  Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
6.  Fast Five
7.  Cars 2
8.  Thor
9.  Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
10. Captain America: The First Avenger

The first seven are sequels.  The last three are attempts to create franchises.

So the next time you hear someone complain that Hollywood just keeps repeating itself, remind them the public demands it.
