Great Debate
There's been a lot of back and forth between Obama and Romney over what the latter did at Bain Capital. There are a lot of charges but the essence, I'd say, is Obama claims Romney was responsible for outsourcing jobs.
It seems weird to me that Romney is being attacked because he's got significant experience in private business. How can this be a bad thing, no matter what he did? Especially if he was successful. I'm not saying it qualifies him to handle the economy, but it's not as if Romney only knows how to cut jobs and would automatically start doing so once elected.
But this is not the worst part. What's supremely silly is both Obama and Romney, I'm guessing, understand that outsourcing is a good thing. Giving jobs to those who can handle them best is good for the economy. But both think this is too hard to explain to the public so both are engaging in a debate they don't believe in.
In other Romney news, there's been a lot of talk about Romney picking Condoleezza Rice as a running mate. I don't see it happening. While she brings certain things to the table, she disqualifed on two counts. First, she's a moderate and Romney is already seen as moderate enough by his base. Second, Obama wants desperately to run against Bush, and picking Condi would make it that much easier.
