Not The Comedian, Not The Wendy's Guy
Happy birthday, David Clayton-Thomas. He was the lead singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears, a fairly popular big rock band in the late 60s/early 70s. His gritty voice gave them a distinctive sound.
Here are their three biggest hits--they all went to #2. Couldn't quite manage a #1. The band is not a big favorite of mine, but they have a special place in my heart since "Spinning Wheel" was the first pop song I remember learning on guitar.

Embarrassed but have confused them both with 3 Dog Night & (apparently) Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Gravelly-voiced guys get no respect
Plus, what is that, like 70 years ago?
