Frank's Wild Years
It's hard to believe, but Frank Zappa died twenty years ago today, robbing us of who knows how many more years of work. Luckily, while he was alive, it was practically all he did.

We had an extended Zappa family in my neighborhood growing up. Frank never really seemed that weird to me. I just thought he was a cousin (turned out he wasn't).

I was in Oak Park a few years ago and noticed a local doctor named Frank Zappa. I wasn't the first person to stand in front of his door for a photo.
Zappa, btw, is Italian for hoe or other agricultural implement.
