Don And Peggy And Jorah And Tywin
I'm happy it's April, no fooling. Why? Because some shows I've been waiting for are finally coming back. In particular, Game Of Thrones starts this Sunday (along with Veep) and Mad Men the Sunday after that. Also, though I can't get the exact date, I know new Louie will be around this spring.
There's also new shows like Silicon Valley, which I'll definitely watch, and the return of shows like Orphan Black which I haven't gotten around to yet. But the point is, for at least the next two months, my Sundays are taken care of.

Having read all the GOT books since the end of season 3, I am hoping there are more departures from the books. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed getting lost in the books, but 1) I'd like a couple curveballs to keep me on my toes and 2) (not really a spoiler but here's a warning any way)I think Martin is so immersed in his complex world by books 4 and 5 that the ratio of words and pages and plot elements per action point is growing larger and larger and TV, by its nature, will have to distill it down to its more essential aspects.

Sorry slow system performance caused a double post as I kept pressing the submit button (there ought to be a word for that)*
I've known some who read the books and complain that the series has departed too much from them. Then they tell me what the books did and in every case I prefer the TV show. (Though who knows what I'd think if I read the books first.)
I wish they could be like Lost, and say screw the books, we're going to kill off all the characters the audience finds boring. And if good characters, for whatever reason, get stuck in boring plots, we'll cut it short and make 'em do something fun.
*Could the word be "France"- resists submission at first with elan but keep pressing and then it submits all over the place.
(Naw- while it might fir WW2 and the Franco-Prussian affair, it would be hard to say it works for WW1 or even the 100 Years War)
I recommend watching the Jessica Pare video that comes up after the (utterly pointless, or anyway lost on me) Mad Men trailer.
She's burbling up, and correcting the naivete that we North Americans had, you know, in that decade.
