Umm "...being entertaining and catering to the crowd" is what the most successful politicians do and is a big reason why they get heard.
Contrary to CG, there is a definite point to this article- its that Prof Ilya does not think voters should listen to people he thinks are stupid and ill-informed. I would tend to agree but only if I were the one judging what class of people that included (probably would include many entertainers and plenty of folks from other fields as well).
I will agree with CG that it was boring though. Patricia Arquette would have held my interest longer
He doesn't say they're stupid and ill-informed (though most entertainers are), just that they have no special expertise, and so deserve no more attention than someone you pass on the street.
