So close, and yet so far

Every once in awhile I'm tricked into reading something from the Socialist Paper of Record, and I read about Neomi Rao, a conservative hot shot law professor who is going to work on deregulation. A big element of the story is that she works to get liberal support, too. She persuaded Ginsburg to weigh in in favor of renaming a law school for Scalia, over predictable lib objection.

Among the cited examples of this effort is a letter from eight former heads of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. Ah, now this is just the sort of thing Richard Windsor, er, Cass Sunstein would be part of. It's his schtick, his wheelhouse. I resigned myself to having to acknowledge it.

Turns out, not so much. Hacks gonna hack.

(Points for the footnote about two former administrators being federal judges, who are prohibited from such endorsements. Seems a bit sketchy. I would have been more interested in the list of former administrators who refused. That would be a nice positive statement.)
