Strictly Genteel
I certainly don't mean to make light of the shootings at Jerusalem's Mercaz Harav yeshiva earlier this week, but I want to note how weird it was to hear a radio talk show host mispronounce "yeshiva."
He said YESH-i-va rather than ya-SHEEV-a. And I faintly recalled hearing another goy pronounce it that way many years ago. In fact, it was New England Guy.
