The Pick
The talk among Dems now is will Hillary be Obama's pick for Veep? My guess is she'd take the offer, so the question is will Obama extend it.
Sure, you might think he'd choose someone who appeals more to the center, and has military experience, like Jim Webb. But the smart money says Hillary, since she's got tremendous popularity among some sectors, and those sectors just happen to be the ones Obama needs to shore up.
Now let's assume Obama hates Hillary, and that he's a prickly type. Even so, I think he'd choose her. Heck, they're not getting married (make up your own joke about Bill and Hillary), it's just a hook-up of political convenience. If he's elected, he doesn't have to talk to her any more. And probably wouldn't.

I think it might be a smart choice but I'm not at all sure he'll do it, nor am I sure she'd accept. Historically, dems have not treated their veeps well and if she's going to take another shot in 2012, she may be better off doing it from the senate (especially if an Obama Presidency is a huge debacle - which I see as an almost certainty).
As far as Obama is concerned, it may be a politically expedient move, but if he's truly an agent of change in Washington the last thing he'll want is a Clinton on the ticket with him.
She wouldn't take it except with conditions that Obama would be wise not to accept. (She and he remembers what she did to Al Gore)

What did she do to Al Gore? Her husband took this loser, who wasn't tough enough to beat the mighty Michael Dukakis even after he introduced Willie Horton into the public discourse, and raised him to the second-highest office in the land. He was regularly called the most powerful Vice President ever. And then he got to run for President, and he decided to distance himself from his benefactor. Did Hillary prevent any of this?
And what conditions are you referring to? Is Hillary afraid that Michelle Obama will try to run for President later?
By the way, while I'd say reaching out to Latinos is an excellent idea, Bill Richardson would be an extra poke at Hillary, which I'm not sure is a good idea.

My prediction?
Whether Al Gore was talennted or not was not the point (I find him to be a much better vormer government official)- the point is she relentlessly tried to push him into a box and freeze him out (at which she met with little success after she screwed up health care)and a he reurned the favor. The point was having snake in the grass or a fox in the henhouse or whatever analogy you want is not a great idea. Hillary as veep would probably be a source of constant undermining (Yes you should look at VPs in terms of helping the election, but it would pay to focus on what it would mean if successfuL)
