Masters Of War

Suze Rotolo, best known as the gal on the cover of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, has a memoir out on her days with Bobby. Suze was a red-diaper baby, but I was still a bit surprised to read this in the New York Times review:

It’s exhilarating to watch Rotolo, shy as she was, push the boundaries; in 1964, she made an illegal trip to Cuba, where she met Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

I'm all for self-actualization, but is hanging out with brutal murderers really the best way to broaden your horizons?

I don't know -- why don't you ask all the capitalists making nice with China?

Sometimes our anonymous commenters make me very happy.

If Suze tried to lead them towards capitalism and away from repression, I'd be impressed, but somehow I doubt that's what they talked about.
