Over And Out

I watched the latest version of At The Movies, which just debuted. They're attempting to update and speed up the show a little. Good or bad, the real question is do we need this show any more?

When Siskel and Ebert started it over three decades ago, there was no internet and, for all intents and purposes, no cable. Seeing a few movie previews and hearing word on what's coming up was hard to come by. Now it's hard to avoid.

It was a great format, but it no longer fills a gap. If the show quietly went away, would anyone notice?

That show went away when Gene Siskel died.

Or, did it just Jump the Shark?
