Worship

I'm sure many of you have seen the video of young children singing praise to Obama (before it was pulled), not to mention this one with a more military approach.

Yesterday, on the corner of Melrose and La Brea, I saw an Obama/Superman poster. Also saw one on Melrose and Gower.

It reminded me of being in Chicago when Harold Washington died. Not long after, there were these black velvet painting showing Mayor Washington and Jesus looking down on the city. At least he'd been mayor. Obama hasn't even done anything yet.

From the point of view of a whole lot of African American folks, Obama having been nominated as the Democratic candidate for President of the United States counts as his having done something worth remembering.

That said, I think the Superman posters are silly, the Soviet Realism posters are "They Live" silly, and the videos are seriously creepy.

The irony is the left mocks President Bush as a Glorious Leader who will crush us if we insult him, when it's far truer of Obama.

By begging George Bush's Justice Department to enforce the law (as they see it). Oh yes, irony indeed.
