All The King's Men Again

I saw the trailers for W. and Milk. The first is Oliver Stone's film about George W. Bush starring Josh Brolin, the second is Gus Van Sant's film about Harvey Milk, starring Sean Penn (with Josh Brolin).

A good film is a good film, but I just can't see where the audience is for these.

I'd like to see them both, but they won't be high on the list, so they'll probably drop off. I wish someone other than Oliver Stone were making W so that we could believe some of the content.

Just based on the trailer, I don't believe there'll be a second of truth in W. On the other hand, JFK was nonsense from beginning to end, but it was still quite entertaining.

I'm looking forward more to Milk, though that's based mostly on the director. I don't know if we need a ficionalized account of the story since there's already a fine documentary made years ago that won the Oscar.

What do you mean W will be entirely truthful to those who despise W and will unexpurgated vomit to those who despise the despisers. Maybe they can be diverted by arguing with each other while the country moves forward all hopey and mavericky
