Deserves Closer Study

Here's a study that shows sexual behavior in the workplace, such as flirting, jokes and innuendo, has a negative effect on everyone, including those who claim to enjoy it. (Men said they liked it more than women, if you were curious.)

I often wonder how you properly conduct such a study. This sort of research is always tricky, but when it comes to intensely personal stuff, it would seem especially hard. TWSS.

The most interesting stat: those subject to sexual banter consumed more alcohol.

Interesting though the tone seems to indicate they were viewing the behavior with the nanny state disapproval.

Here are ome potential corollaries

-People with despressing lives, home problems and greater alcohol consumption might gravitate to sexual behaviors as a release (and other "fun" behaviors)

-Wonder what the results would have been if it wasn't limited to behavior in the workplace but to sexual behavior generallly- might they be the same? After all sexual behavior involves and great deal of built up anticipation and crushing disappointment generally (se any Woody Allen film)
