Eternally Springs The Hope

As of this morning the Pittsburgh Pirates, after a dramatic ninth inning comeback yesterday against the hated Cards, are undefeated and in first place. Life has promise and hope exists.

(We'll ignore the fact that in each of the last two seasons, they also had dramatic come from behind victories on opening day and went on to lose 94 and 95 games, respectively)

The Bucs are goin all the way, all the way, all the way
Yes the Bucs are goin all the way, all the way this year...*

Even more annoying and infectious than the "Here we go Steelers" chant. Trust me. (I think the tune is from some Mr. Rogers' song)

If the Pirates finish above fifth this year I will be shocked.

If the Pirates finish fifth, it will be an improvement

The streak is over. Buccos fall to Cards in 9-3 laugher. The pitching staff can not solve Albert Pujols. Andy LaRoche can neither hit nor field (3 errors in 2 games). Remorse returns. Alas.
