Above The Fold

I stopped buying the LA Times earlier this year, but that doesn't stop me from seeing it on the street.

A couple days ago, as I was walking along, I caught the front page headline. I forget the exact wording, but it was something like "Obama's First Prioirity Is Border Security."

Headline writing can be tricky, but the Times should avoid making theirs sound like a press release.

NEGuy here from my remote location (which apparently Google believes I should not be allowed to sign on from and my sign-in phrase was "UNITME" which I am interpreting as hostile):

I was just about to do a post on headlines but you preempted me so I'll just write it here- one of the top headlines in today's on-line Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the recently-deceased basketball Chuck Daly "Classy Coach Dies"- I assume they meant the best by this but what does does it say about a sport if you have to headline a eulogy so- it seems to be saying that classiness is a rare quality in the NBA. Maybe it is, but this seems to be an odd dpot to make the point.
