Credit Where Credit Is Due
Nikki Finke has the scoop on Wall Street 2. Just the idea of a sequel is bad enough, but this sounds excruciating:
--a reformed Gordon Gekko, out of jail and trying to make things right with his daughter.
--an evil hedge fund manager who drives people to suicide.
--and in the Charlie Sheen role...Shia LaBeouf. (Is LaBeouf going to be a sop to the younger generation in every film where they try to revive a major actor in a role he made famous a generation ago?)
Who knows? Maybe I'll be surprised. My expectation are so low it won't take much.
But I do have one suggestion. If the film is about the evils of greed--indeed, if any Hollywood film has that theme--then let's list how much everyone made next to their name in the credits.

I think even Hollywood could do a great film about Wall Street showing the industry to be full absolutely deplorable human beings who are absolutely necessary to the functioning of society where decent folk live
You think so? I've never seen a Hollywood movie pull that off before.
