Fieger

I was surprised to see Doug Fieger, leader of the Knack, died. The band became popular so quickly the critics couldn't catch up, and hated them. But the fans understood. It was a great sound. Irresistible.

After the first explosion, the Knack's popularity plummeted, but just releasing one album that great, with a central song so memorable--you don't need to do any more.

"Good Girls Don't" spoke to losers everywhere.

The Knack with drum sets and no keyboards was a reaction to the "corporate rock" sound & disco synth & touchy feely folksy blues- Nothing necessarily wrong with any of those styles but they had reached a high level of monotony in the late 70s
