Namely You
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but names fascinate me anyway. For instance, you don't see the name "Rose" like you used to.
So I love these lists of the whitest and blackest girl names (in America) and the same for boys. This is not opinion, this is based on research of what white and black people name their kids. And while we're at it, we might as well note the top crossover names--ones that blacks and whites are most likely to share.
Most of these aren't surprising, but a few surprised me. For instance, certain male names used to be "white" but apparently aren't any more, such as "Willie," "Reginald" and "Darryl." And some of those female crossover names surprised me, such as "Tiffany," "Brittany" and "Amber."

How are they calculating crossover? Some sort of weighted average? An average of percents? How do they decide how low to go on the dominant list and how high to go on the subsidiary list?
Check them out for their system, but I think you get the general idea.
The list is from 2005 or so- note no Baracks or Lebrons
