I'm Audi
A surprising amount of Super Bowl commercials had violence or semi-nudity, yet were still pretty boring.
I think the most interesting commercial, perhaps unintentionally, was from Audi:
So let me get this straight: in the not-too-distant-future, there will be a fascist takeover of our nation, coordinated by those who call themselves "environmentalists."
Isn't the message not that we should buy Audi, but that we should take whatever steps are necessary to avert this dystopia?

This is their ideal society.
So they thought they would sell green cars by portraying environmentalists as proto-Nazis and portraying a future that is a nightmare to both the right (intrusive enviroregulations) and the left (Police with extra harassment power), Good song and interesting production but how will this sell Audis?
the song is adapted (or stolen) from the dream police song by cheap trick.

I read an analysis somewhere that said Audi may not have been as off the mark as many suppose. They pointed out that Audi's market for this car is narrow - 1) people who can afford an Audi, and 2)who ackowledge the moral superiority of paying more to be "green." For this crowd, the ad would be taken at face value - the moral correctness of punishing people for "green" violations is not questioned. To top it off, showing the purchaser of the green Audi receiving just reward for their foresight essentially described utopia for the target market for this car.
Of course, there is also the point that the ad succeeded in getting talked about - so by that measure it is a success.
Maybe Audi actually has a sense of humor about themselves and about environmentalists, while still thinking it's important to be green?
Maybe, but if right-wing anti-environmentalists had made the first 90% of this commercial, don't you think Audi buyers would denounce it?
