A Marriage Made In Akron

Brian Wilson will soon be putting out his latest, Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin. I consider both Wilson and Gershwin musical geniuses, but they have very different styles from very different eras. In general I don't like albums where rock stars take on the Great American Songbook, but this is worse. Whether or not Wilson's best days are behind him, he should continue writing new stuff or, if he's going to reimagine anything, work on his older material or related styles.

Gershwin and Wilson have been getting along without each other just fine. I don't see this as adding anything to the rep of either.
