There Are Three Sides To This

I was just in my favorite retail establishment, the 99 Cent Store (formerly the 88 Cent Store), and noticed they had stacks and stacks of Toblerone on sale. Everywhere you looked was a display of Toblerone.

Was there some problem at Toblerone? Did someone put an extra zero in an order? Did someone mix the wrong ingredient into a batch? I wonder if they'll have any trouble unloading it. I mean, it's one thing to buy odd lots when it comes to sponges or shampoo, but does anyone want to take a chance on second-rate Toblerone?

Maybe its from a bankruptcy/ liquidation of a hotel with minibars (the only places I recall ever seeing Toblerones)

I, too, have noticed the Toblerones at the 99-cent store. In fact, this past week, Operation Toblerone Overload racheted up a notch as they introduced a "gift" 6-pack selling for $5. It's a lot of Toblerone...

...and it's not moving.

It's similar to what happened when the store became innundated with individually-wrapped Mrs. Fields cookies. They had tons of them, and they left them priced too high (like starting at $1 per cookie!). It was tough to compete with entire packages of cookies for $1, and so they sat on the shelves.

Wait for it. Chocolate has a finite shelf life.

The cost of Toblerone may be coming down.

Maybe I'll have a Toblerone themed party.
