MTP

The last two years we've celebrated the birthday of our favorite female drummer, Moe Tucker of the Velvet Underground (sorry Karen Carpenter).  Surprisingly, she's in the news.  Looks like she's become a Tea Party member.  And she didn't take out a press release, she just did it. (She appears in the clip at 2:40)

Writer Brandon Kim, who brought this to my attention, writes "This is one of the farthest falls from cool in music history." Yeah, because being in one of the greatest rock and roll bands of the 60s mean you'd never take part in a protest against the Establishment.

PS  Her accent sounds a lot like Johnny Ramone's.

Wow, so it doesn't matter who runs the White House and Congress, if you want smaller government you have to be part of the establishment these days.
