I saw him play at BB King's place in NY back in the early 90s. He wasn't in great shape physically -- as I recall he sat (ala Paul Prudhomme) for most of the set -- but wow that voice had some power. He put on a terrific show, had the audience dancing between the tables, and did three or four encores.
