MVL MVP

I've had my problems with the Nobel Prize in literature for years (and I've blogged about it--check past October posts around this time if you want to find them), so I was pleasantly surprised to see Mario Vargas Llosa take the award.

I admit I like his politics, but that doesn't matter--he's an innovative and worthy writer.  I admit I haven't read a lot of his stuff, but from what I've seen, he strikes me as a worthy successor to fellow Spanish-language Prize-winners Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Octavio Paz
