When The Joke Is Over
I feel sorry for Monica Lewinsky. She must have been thrilled to get a position as a White House intern, little knowing it would lead to her becoming a national punchline. She may have played a part in that, but it seems to me the unwanted notoriety was disproportionate to the original activity.
So I don't mean to pile on. Neverthleless, I'm guessing I, like millions of others, could only scratch our heads at this:
An insider told The Enquirer that Monica has given up her own place and moves between the two coasts trying to work out projects that may never get off the ground. Her apparent goal is to set up her own public relations company.
Public relations? Would you want Monica Lewinsky to be in charge of your public relations? Publicist, heal thyself.
Speaking of healing, she needs to get over the President. If the article is reliable (and who knows?), she still has feelings for him and is angry he lied about their relationship. She claims it was based on mutual respect, but his memoir makes it sound like a cheap dalliance.
PS In June she had a dinner party at Lucy's El Adobe Cafe, a well-known spot on Melrose (one block north of Clinton Street), just outside Paramount. I've walked by it many times. Maybe if I'd looked in I would have seen her.

Cheap dalliance, mutual respect. Cheap dalliance, mutual respect.
Hmm. I guess we'll never know.
She's probably, literally, insane, having been jolted so brutally away from reality. She's probably just like a movie star.
Actually there is a germ of s strategy. She will be out spouting PR unless others who wish this story would just go away forever might be willing to hire her just to shut her up.
Cheap dalliance, mutual respect- I think defines most relationships between folks of such differing ages (though its usually to poor sap old dude who gets fooled)
