Starr Time
Ringo was both the oldest and youngest Beatle. The oldest in years--he turns 79 today--and the youngest in the last to join the band, just before they hit it big.
The man he replaced, Pete Best, might have looked like a rock star from central casting, but funny-looking Ringo Starr was perfect for the band, both musically and personality-wise. He added an essential ingredient, and his fellow Beatles made sure he had a singing spot on every album.

Don't think I've seen your thoughts on "Yesterday" yet? We saw it yesterday and enjoyed it thoroughly. Some reviews criticize it for not delving deeper into the "incident" and ramifications of a changed universe, but I think the film was not intended to be a sci-fi drama. I think the incident is a metaphor in itself for how The Beatles changed the universe (not just music). Maybe that goes a little overboard, but the film is definitely directed at folks of a certain age who, if nothing else, enjoyed hearing the favorite songs from their youth revitalized.
I generally don't comment on new films until my year-end wrap-up.
I'll say this about the plot of Yesterday, and it applies to many movies where something bizarre happens that's never explained. There's simply no need to go into the "why" of it. It happened, and what counts, story-wise, are the ramifications.
I've heard other complaints about Yesterday, but I wasn't aware this was bothering people.
