Half A Century Of No Compromise
Good piece by Brian Doherty on Ayn Rand for the 50th anniversy of Atlas Shrugged.
The best line goes to Rand on Goldwater: "If he advocates the right political principles for the wrong metaphysical reasons, the contradiction is his problem, not ours."

Good piece. He had me (to some degree) right up until here: "No major American political party has embraced her message in full. But millions of Americans have voted for her with their pocket books, and hundreds of thousands continue to do so every year."
By that measure, I've "voted" for folks ranging from Thoreau to Machiavelli to Larry Niven, none of whom I'd "vote" for in the literal sense.
