Here's A Going Away Present, Lloyd
Now that's how you end a career. After a so-so season, Lloyd Carr's Michigan goes out with a rousing 41-35 victory.
To be honest, I expected them to lose. Everyone did. Florida is a top team with an offense that I thought would shred the Wolverines, and, even healthy, it was doubtful Henne and Hart could match the damage Tebow would inflict.
Instead, Michigan jumped out of the gate with a quick touchdown, and the lead seesawed for the rest of the game. The biggest surprise, in a bad way, was Hart. Here's a guy who never fumbles and he does it twice right next to the end zone. The second was especially costly, since it meant that Michigan went from likely being up 35-21 to a 28-28 tie (after they were caught flatfooted during a fake punt). Add two interceptions from Henne and it's amazing Michigan was even in the game.
With a tie game going into the fourth quarter, when Florida went ahead it looked like Michigan had blown it. I can't imagine what was going through Hart's head at this point. But with some amazing catches by Adrian Arrington, Michigan got in front again and the defense, even though they gave away five touchdowns, was able to hold Tebow when they needed to.
So long, Lloyd. You deserved it.

I have to agree that was a very big game for Lloyd and da boys. However, the big 10 is now 3-4 in bowls (the other wins were purdue over Central Mich -- one they almost blew, and PennST. over a 7-5 now 7-6 Texas A & M squad) including one upset win (U-M). The SEC is now 6-2. Their losses were by their fourth best team (FLA) to the second or third best team in the Big 10 (U-M) and by their fifth best team (Arky) to the second best team in the Big 12 (Mizzou). Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi ST, and Alabama have won.
After Oklahoma waxes W.V. tonite, then all that's really left is LSU/OSU and the debate about which team really is best. I think that USC, Oklahoma, LSU, and Georgia have the most legit claims.
